The Fuchsia Fairy is dressed in a frilly purple and coral-red tutu that resembles the very decorative teardrop shape of the Fuchsia plant. Dancing barefoot onto pointe and holding her arms in the fifth position, this flower fairy appears to perform graceful ballet steps and turns. Her pastel wings seem to flutter as she dances. The English novelist and illustrator Cicely Mary Barker composed several children's publications relating to imagination along with world of flower fairies. The pictures included in her books were the creative idea for the hand-painted fairies and the Fuchsia Fairy was illustrated in the Flower Fairies of the Alphabet book.
