Stop, close your eyes, and take time to smell the flowers. The Lilac Flower Fairy smells the fragrance of lilacs in the springtime air. Although lilacs may be too big for a miniature garden, the cluster of tiny flowers was the inspiration for the light purple skirt this fairy is wearing. A seafoam green hat is covering the fairy's chestnut curly hair. Author Cicely Mary Barker enjoyed writing about Flower Fairies and her drawings were the inspirations for the hand-painted collectible fairies. The Lilac Fairy was illustrated in the Flower Fairies of the Trees book. Barker's original book, Flower Fairies of the Spring, was introduced in 1923.
