Rambler's Call
Joe Mullins is a native of southwestern Ohio who is recognized as a top banjo player, vocalist and radio broadcaster for over 25 years. Starting in music at an early age, he became a mainstay in bands led by his father, the noted fiddler and DJ Paul Moon Mullins in the area around Middletown, Ohio. Joe was a founding member of the fine TRADITIONAL GRASS, a very popular Bluegrass group that he led for 10 years until he purchased WBZI Radio in Xenia, Ohio in 1995 and devoted much of his time to that business. Joe was also a key member of the superb group LONGVIEW, a band which received IBMA awards in the late 1990s for Song of the Year and Recorded Event of the Year.
Mullins now owns a thriving network of radio stations in Ohio but has also returned to performing and touring on the Bluegrass circuit with an excellent band of musicians. This new 12-track album features s wonderful mix of original songs and lesser-known older pieces and gives a strong suggestion that Mullins and his new group will be a force to be reckoned with on the Bluegrass circuit again.
