The car spent the next 42 years in one barn or another until I retired in 2010. I rented a trailer and winched the car out of the barn it had spent the last dozen years in and hauled it home. I changed the oil in the engine, transmission, and rear end. Then, I bought a new battery, 4 spark plugs, and 5 gallons of gas. After I took the Tillotson carb apart and sprayed carb cleaner all over it, I put it back together with the same gaskets. It started up as if it had been running the previous week.

It had Lakes Pipes, flipper hub caps, and white tuck and roll interior. In script, painted on each "B" pillar, was "Mood Indigo". I couldn't remember ever seeing the car on the street, but the whole package made a really lasting impression. I think that was the first custom car I had ever seen.
