Trent North was born to Julissa, an unwed, sixteen-year-old mother, when she was in the eleventh grade and still living at home with her parents. After his birth, she finished high school a year late. Her parents raised her, her new little son, and her younger sister, Jalen, together. Finally, Julissa saved enough money to move out of her parentâ€™s house into one where she and her son would be on their own. Jalen began spending more time with her sister and Trent at their house then at her parentsâ€™ farm. The sisters were very close and Jalen loved her little nephew.

When Julissa North was twenty-four, she finished college with a degree in Accounting and got a job in payroll at the local mill. Now that she had the income to support a better life style, she found a larger house. It was helpful that Jalen wanted to rent a room from her and the sisters enjoyed living together. They both looked after young Trent, making sure he did his homework and learned the things he needed to know to live his life with ease.
