I write military science fiction but in 1967, I shouldered a rifle and went into harm's way. This war was all of the above but had an extra touch of madness.
My intention is to put the reader not just into the terror of jungle combat, but to get a very dramatic sense of that pressure cooker of the dark insanity that sucked at our souls (in an entertaining manner, of course). Near the end, a power insane Colonel shanghaied and ordered clerks, cooks, typists, and other non-combatants to rebuild a Green Beret outpost that had been overrun twice, to rescue downed pilots: pure madness.
This is action-packed and I believe will put the reader in the shoes of these young men who find themselves with the impossible task of stopping the dreaded, crack 105th N.V.A. Shock Regiment. This is not meant to be just a war story. This is meant to be the bullseye of that senseless horror America stumbled into.
It begins as thus: The morning we stumbled onto the baby roasting over a North Vietnamese campfire, Jack freaked out big time. Except, it wasn't a baby. It was a monkey.
Author's note: Please download a sample before buying the novella. If it is to your taste, you will not be disappointed. Secondly, I write exclusively (under this name) military science fiction. Should you wish to read more of my work, I would suggest Alien Civil War: First Human Contact (1st in The Knife series). This work (Alien Civil War) is very different, but sales more than indicate it has a large appeal.
