In 1966 Vietnam one of the major thorns in our side was a notorious torture interrogator known as The Frenchman. This man was so good at what he did that North Vietnam’s soldiers gave him more protection than they did their best generals. His jungle mansion deep in Viet Cong country was so heavily guarded by an army of mercenaries and soldiers that no one had been able to take him out. As far as the Marine snipers on Hill 55 were concerned The Frenchman was a one-way trip.
When Marine Colonel Radar Ryan can no longer stand what the Frenchman is doing to Marine prisoners, he asks his top sniper Sergeant Harry Landon to come up with a plan. All Landon has to do is figure out how to crawl across a huge grass prairie while pairs of foot-soldiers, mercenaries leashed to mastiff dogs, and jeeps of bodyguards patrol it night and day.
The sergeant has to come up with a flawless plan that will enable him to get right into the thick of those bodyguards to even catch sight of his target. But then he has to get back out again too. How he does it while you go through it with him will have you hyperventilating through every page of the ordeal…hopefully with both of you coming out alive on the other side. Take a deep breath on this one and just hang on while sniper Landon takes you on a trip you won’t ever forget!
