Raven presents for the first time ever on CD the classic album Jerry Jeff Walker (1972) by the famed Country artist JERRY JEFF WALKER. Most widely known as the writer of the oft-covered and immensely popular 'Mr. Bojangles', Walker came to prominence in the early 1970s as part of the progressive 'outlaw' Country scene around Austin, Texas, alongside Willie Nelson, Guy Clark, Billy Joe Shaver, Waylon Jennings and Townes Van Zandt. Originally recorded for Decca / MCA in 1972, Jerry Jeff Walker completed his transition from New York folkie to bona fide Texas singer / song writer and this album is considered to be his masterpiece. Walker was at the top of his game here and surrounded by a group of exceptional musicians (including members of the Lost Gonzo Band - Bob Livingstone and Gary P. Nunn, plus Craig Hillis, David Bromberg etc). The playing is earthy, funky and playful. Highlights include his own peerless 'Hill Country Rain' and 'Curly and Lil' plus a pair of Guy Clark's finest songs 'That Old Time Feeling' and 'L.A. Freeway'. 'Jerry Jeff Walker is a spotless masterpiece, full of amazing songs, great playing, a sound that defines the era yet is timeless and plenty of passion and good- time spirit.' - All Music Guide. With superb quality audio, color booklet, detailed notes and six bonus tracks from A Man Must Carry On (1977).
