The profound theme of Sabbath rest runs throughout the pages of the Bible. Most Christians are acquainted only with the ordinances of the Sabbath found in the Old Testament where a man was forbidden to work one day of the week. This Old Testament type, or shadow was given to man to point to the anti-type and substance of true Sabbath rest that has been realized in the Son of God.
This book seeks to lead the reader into the discovery of that spiritual Sabbath that God has always desired to lead His people into. The apostle Paul declared, "Therefore, let us fear lest, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you should seem to have come short of it" (Hebrews 4:1).
