Note, this is not a PC story, it mixes science fiction, politics and biblical stories together.
This is the seventh in the series. In this series humans and their allies go to war against their age old for the Darkness. Systems disappear in blazes of antimatter explosions. Wormholes opened giant ships miles long, hundreds of them in battle groups swarmed into a system attempting to destroy them.
The three human worlds realized they were related, they agreed to join forces and work together. They merged their fleets under Admiral Bright. The Melan Council was angry the humans played hard to get, humans refused to join the other systems by joining the Galactic Council.
The Galactic Council members was angry, so angry they attempted to crush the human's worlds, they quickly learned humans weren't as easy to defeat as they thought they would be. While the Council was preoccupied with the humans, they were losing sight of the big picture.
Fighting foes on all side, Admiral Bright became over stressed. Dianne worked on a secret plan to both spy on the Admiral and give him some much needed company. He created his secret weapon which succeeded better than he thought. Dianne and Moses ended up disagreeing on many issues, Moses sided more ofter with the humans while Dianne owed her loyalty with the Melan AI network.
The Darkness raided system after system, most fell and were completely destroyed. The Darkness fired a new type of weapons which spread through a system destroying down to the atomic level everything it touched. Admiral Bright finally got his chance to go toe to toe against the Darkness, he beat them in their first encounter, he beat them so badly they left their targeted system and destroyed others.
When Admiral Bright got his second chance, he was shocked when the Darkness invited him to a face to face meeting, one he had to accept. Once face to face, he learned a fact that shocked him. He learned the Darkness' secret, he also learned he couldn't defeat them in a normal war. Was the Darkness the threat everyone thought they were?
